Improving the lives of moms and their families through support, education, communication and advocacy.
April's Parent Meet-Up
When: Monday, April 7th, from 10 until 11:30am.
Where: Hayes Room at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library
Who: Everyone is invited! If you can we'd love you to RSVP but it's not necessary.
Theme: Chris Robertson, Parent Advisor with Family Center of Washington County, will join us to talk about FCWC programs. He'll touch on FCWC's parent education workshops, the Family Works program for young parents, playgroups, FCWS's childcare facility serving birth-5 yrs, applying for childcare subsidy, and the availability of early intervention services.
About the Monthly Parent Meet-Ups in general: Maybe you are wondering where a good play space is for the kids on rainy days, or have questions about what your toddler is eating. Perhaps you are new to parenthood and just need some community support or guidance from other parents. All are welcome--whether you are a new parent, new to the area, or just looking to expand your community and tap into new resources. Monthly meetings are for mamas (and papas!) to meet, share ideas, advice and information about our kids, our central Vermont community, and each other.
Normally we meet on the first Monday of every month (unless there's a Monday holiday and then it's the second Monday of the month) for coffee, tea, snacks and good conversation in the Hayes Room of the Kellogg-Hubbard Library from 10-11:30am.
Although these meetings are mainly to offer parent support and community building, kids are always welcome! We'll have some kids toys there but feel free to bring more to share.
Mark your calendars!
